(UPDATED) Carlos Condit Rematch With Nick Diaz Expected To Be Announced On Friday
The dream match has been set! Again!
According to Dana White's twitter, the fight that was so nice that they had to make it twice is in place. The rematch between the now current UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz is expected to go down sometime soon. Here is what Uncle Dana had to say in response to a fan asking about the rumor:
@justScrap85 @carloscondit @malkikawa the rumor is true. Carlos did accept the fight today and Carlos is coming on Friday not thur
With all the controversy surrounding the first bout and multiple scoring differences between fight fans, media, and fighters, this seems like the bout to make with Georges St. Pierre still out for quite a stretch. There are also quite a few top contenders in limbo, with fighters like Jake Ellenberger, Jake Shields, Johny Hendricks, or Josh Koscheck already scheduled for bouts or just having recently fought.
We'll have all the details for you when the announcement is made.
UPDATE: Supposedly Nick cannot compete and Condit will be in on Friday to complete the GSP deal. Thus ends the best "LOL JK" the MMA media has pulled.

Woot!
I feel bad for Condit, but I think we all recognize that Diaz vs. GSP is what we want to see. Condit was just unfortunate enough to be used while DFW was trying to wrangle Diaz to be a better company man.

IMO, no question
that Condit won that fight. However, will love the rematch as we’ll get to see how both guys change up their game plans.
I wouldn’t say no question.

Caveat
Meaning no question in terms of winning because of the rules.
I had him taking 3 out 5 because of his effective striking (leg kicks, jabs, and that “spinning sh*t”) and cage control, due to his effective use of movement to dictate when and where exchanges took place.
In other words, he won in a very technical fashion. Would he beat Diaz in a real street fight? Don’t know. Doubt it, as I think Diaz is a complete badass. But to me, there is no question Condit out-pointed Diaz and therefore won the fight (because of the rules).
Which is too bad, because I REALLY wanted Diaz to win.
Thanks

Did I not say "IMO"?
As in “in my opinion”? I’m well aware other people thought Diaz won the fight.
But look on the bright side, we most likely will get to see them fight again,
Now you're just being diffcult
I said FOR ME there wasn’t any question. The post started with In My Opinion. Jeez.
