Brandon Vera Out And Igor Pokrajac In Against Thiago Silva At UFC On FX 3
Brandon Vera must have been chomping at the bit to get another shot against Thiago Silva after he got humiliated by Silva at UFC 125. After a positive PED test by Silva post-fight, Vera had a new lease on life in the UFC. He subsequently turned in an uninspiring unanimous decision victory over Eliot Marshall at UFC 137, which saw Vera sustain an arm injury in a tight armbar secured by Marshall. Controversy over who won the fight ran amuck after the bout, but Vera was just recently given his chance to avenge the beating he took in the bout that is now a no-contest against Silva at UFC on FX 3 on May 15 from Fairfax, Virginia.
However, this was all for naught as Vera has not yet healed his arm and doctors do not want him back in the cage just yet. This is somewhat good news for Igor Pokrajac, as he will be competing against Thiago Silva in the Brazilian's first fight in over a year. Croatian MMA site Fightsite has the details via the handy Google Translate!
Igor Pokrajac in the next match will face the dangerous Brazilian fighter, Thiago Silva. Duel, which will follow the UFC on FX 3 events scheduled for the 15th May and Fairfax (Virginia), the site confirmed for Fight of the UFC.
Sloppy translations aside, Pokrajac just came off a shocking TKO victory over Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 140. Will the Croat be able to pull off another shocking upset?
