More UFC Fight Announcements: Matt Brown Vs. Stephen Thompson And Alan Belcher Vs. Rousimar Palhares Announced
UFC fight announcement are my Valentine's gift to all of you. Frankly because they don't cost anything and they are easy to find. Don't take it personally though, babies. This college kid lifestyle drains me.
First off, we have Matt Brown and Stephen Thompson set to collide in a welterweight affair. The fight is already being hyped with Matt Brown taking a few potshots at Thompson's kickboxing career. This could be a fun scrap with Thompson's karate background and Brown's scrappy standup and ground game. The bout is slated to go down at UFC 145 on April 21st in Atlanta, with Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans headlining.
Moving to the UFC's third outing on FOX, we have a barnburner at middleweight. Rousimar Palhares will take his infamous leg locks to the cage against the troubled, returning Alan Belcher. Belcher's struggle with injuries (most notably with eye injury) have kept him on a sporadic fighting schedule. His last bout was against Jason McDonald in September. Palhares last leglocked Mike Massenzion at UFC 142 in Brazil. UFC on Fox 3 is going down on May 5th at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In addition to these highlighted bouts, we have a few fights added to UFC on Fuel TV 3. Amir Sadollah returns to fight in the state he lives in against Wanderlei Silva's protege Jorge Lopez. Aaron Riley will fight in front of the state he now calls home as well against guillotine specialist Cody McKenzie. Middleweights will collide as Brad Tavares battles Korean Dongi Yang. Finally, a bantamweight bout between Yves Jabouin and Mike Easton (a local to the area as well) is slated.
Happy Valentine's to all of you! We'll have more bout announcements as they roll in.
