Josh Koscheck will get another solid wrestle-boxer to take on in his next fight. After squeaking out a split decision over Mike Pierce at UFC 143, Koscheck will be taking on a red-hot Johny Hendricks, who just came off a KO victory against Koscheck's teammate Jon Fitch at UFC 141. A major welterweight contender bout between Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks is headed to the UFC on Fox 3 card this May, UFC President Dana White announced on Sunday.
UFC on Fox 3 takes place on May 5 from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, headlined by the lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz.
With a win, either man (or the winner of Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez) could be in consideration for a shot at Carlos Condit or Georges St. Pierre for the UFC Welterweight strap. Koscheck has had to fight his way back into consideration after his second loss to GSP at UFC 124, while Hendricks has been fighting through the ranks and solidified his status with the shocking knockout of Fitch.
