Tito Ortiz Versus Forrest Griffin, Cain Velasquez Versus Frank Mir In The Mix

Photo

The UFC is heavy on fight ideas today, as two bouts are being heavily considered by the folks at Zuffa. First off, Lorenzo Fertitta has confirmed that Tito Ortiz will have his swansong in the Octagon against a familiar foe in Forrest Griffin. Here is what Fertitta had to say via the folks at Fighters Only Magazine:

The UFC CEO took to Twitter for an extended Q&A with fight fans today as he battled insomnia in Brazil, where is overseeing the initial stages of ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Brasil’, which began shooting this week.

Asked by a fan what would be next for Griffin he replied, "Tito."

Ortiz and Griffin both have not been opposed to the final bout in the trilogy as both men are on the tail end of their careers.

In other big fight announcements, we look Lorenzo Fertitta's twitter. Fertitta announced who he thinks will be next on the slate for Frank Mir:

junoiurmint

@lorenzofertitta whats next for frank mir :D

Lorenzo Fertitta

@junoiurmint cain

The match between the former UFC Heavyweight champions should provide an interesting matchup. Cain Velasquez recently lost his belt to Junior dos Santos, while Frank Mir was last seen gruesomely breaking the arm of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in a grisly kimura.

I doubt it.

Neither of the first 2 fights were all that great.
The first fight was ‘prolly the best, the rematch was kinda lame.
I expect this one to be lame as well (hope I’m wrong)
But Cain/Mir is gonna be sweet.

i think ortiz and forrest should be good

we will get to see how badly they both have regressed. i would think it would be tito but forrest has seems to lost all his movement. cain mir is going be fast. i see cain trying to take it to the ground quick because of what happened his last fight out and he gets subbed.
