UFC 141 Drugs Tests All Come Back Clean

With the Alistair Overeem controversy to close out last year, Overeem and his drug tests ended up being a pretty hot topic. According to MMA Fighting, Overeem is passing the tests with flying colors as all UFC 141 drug tests came back clean. Here they are with the scoop:

Every fighter on the card, except for Jon Fitch, was tested. The news is especially significant considering Alistair Overeem was tested twice on fight week and passed both times. Overeem also passed the test he took in London prior to flying to Vegas, which was asked of him by the commission after he failed to meet their out-of-competition drug test requirements in November

This is good news for all involved. The no-contest rulings after a fighter pops positive for a banned substance is such a letdown for fans. It also sparks a meaningless debate on whether or not the fighter would have won if he hadn't been using a banned substance. Silly rulings such as the Nick Diaz vs. Takanori Gomi marijuana twist really make things weird for the fans and brings into question what things should and should not be banned.

Luckily, there is nothing to worry about. On the more unlucky side, Jon Fitch could have created and used a steroid to make his chin invincible and not been caught. He could have withstood that punch that he ate against Johny Hendricks. Lebenostorone, anyone?
