OH: Brandon Vera Wants Thiago Silva...Again

Brandon Vera is not exactly on a roll since his return to the promotion. He just came off a battle with Eliot Marshall where he was gifted a decision that should have been a draw, according to most. Others also believe that he should have starched Marshall within a round or two. Instead, he took a brutal beating in the third and almost had his arm destroyed the round before.
Although Vera has not been hot lately, he still wants a rematch with someone much tougher than Eliot Marshall. In fact, he took to social media to announce this:
Good Morning FB!!! I just heard my dear friend Thiago Silva is back...... I want that ass. No H_m_.
Eliot Marshall to Thiago Silva seems like a huge leap in competition. Steroids withheld, it looked like Vera had absolutely nothing for Silva in that fight. Also, need I remind you of what Silva did to Vera? Well, here you go.
Something tells me that Vera could be biting off more than he could chew here. Regardless, Vera has some testicular fortitude to be asking for this rematch. I'll be watching either way.

Not much interest. Brandon Vera should just feel lucky that he’s still fighting in the UFC.

If this does come to fruition, which it shouldn’t, I wonder where Vera’s nose will be by the end of the fight (that is, if it’s even still attached to his face).

The bottom line is Georges is being a little bitch. He didn’t step up and say anything when the UFC pulled me out of this fight. I understand sometimes you have to do what you’re told, but why wouldn’t you tell the media you still want to fight me? If I was Georges, I would want to fight the best. I would have asked for the Anderson Silva fight. I would have asked to fight the Strikeforce champ. But he sits there like a robot and doesn’t say anything at all, just like he’s not going to say anything about me calling him a bitch now. If I saw BJ Penn walking down the street and called him a bitch, we would be fighting right there on the spot. — Nick Diaz

Maybe he knows they won’t do it, so he finds it opportune to be a big man. Many a man has called another out only when they knew throwing down was never an option
