Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara Set for UFC on Fuel TV 2 in Sweden
The folks at Middle Easy have broke the news that Brian Stann will take on Alessio Sakara in a middleweight matchup at UFC on Fuel TV 2 in Sweden. Stann is looking to recoup from his arm- triangle shellacking from Chael Sonnen. Stann was on the road to a title shot prior to his shortcoming with Sonnen, knocking out Chris Leben in the first and Jorge Santiago in the second. The latter scored him a "Fight of the Night" bonus at UFC 130.
Sakara last fought in March of last year against Chris Weidman. Despite putting up a bit of a fight and wiping off his bloodied face on a referee's shirt, Sakara dropped the unanimous decision, thus snapping a three fight win streak. Sakara hasn't had much luck as of late, dropping out of a bout against Nate Marquardt at UFC 116. He then failed to fight Jorge Rivera at UFC 118, UFC 122, and UFC 133 due to various injuries and sicknesses sustained by both fighters. This will be the first bout for Sakara in over a year.
Both men are known for their powerful striking, so this may very well be a case of whose chin gets touched first. This is the third bout added to the card in Sweden, with rumored bouts featuring DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire and Papy Abedi vs. James Head.

I guess they’re not even going to try and have him fight Sakara?
