OH: Leonard Garcia Off UFC 144; Nam Phan Wants Tiequan Zhang?

Our amigos at Bloody Elbow gave us this sad little tidbit today, as Leonard Garcia will not be able to compete in his UFC 144 match in Japan against Tiequan Zhang due to injury. Garcia just came off a war with a man that took matchmaking into his own hands tonight.

Nam Phan, who was Garcia's last opponent, just tweeted this:

Phan just came off of a brutal decision loss to Jim Hettes at UFC 141. Taking a swipe at an open spot on a card that is designed to break into a new market is not a bad idea in the least. That, and Tiequan Zhang's style certainly plays into Phan's hand. Phan's capable grappling and solid hands could certainly be the things that gets Zhang the boot from the UFC. However, Zhang's dangerous guillotine can never be counted out.
