Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin, Matt Wiman vs. Mark Bocek Slated for UFC 145
According to the guys at Bloody Elbow Radio, two bouts have been announced for UFC 145 in March. From the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, we will get to see Mark Hominick return against Eddie Yagin and a sure-fire war in Matt Wiman vs. Mark Bocek. These two fights are in addition to these bouts that have been confirmed by UFC.com.
Lightweight bout: Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida
Welterweight bout: Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills
Heavyweight bout: Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs
Heavyweight bout: Brendan Schaub vs. Ben Rothwell
Featherweight bout: Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin
Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman
Hominick has been on a skid as of late, dropping his championship bout against Jose Aldo by decision and getting caught by Chan Sung Jung. Yagin got beat by Junior Assuncao in one of the most boring fights in recent memory. Matt Wiman picked up a decision victory in a war over Mac Danzig, while Mark Bocek outwrestled the wrestler in Nik Lentz en route to a decision.
Overall, this card is shaping up to be a pretty decent outing. I think they need one or two more marquee fights, but some big names in Clay Guida and Gray Maynard should help build some hype along with rising stars in Brendan Schaub, Chad Griggs, Travis Browne, and Rory MacDonald.
