The Ultimate Fighter 13: Episode 2 Recap

Tuf13_600x600-300x3001_medium

Yes, yes, it's a little late.  But Time Warner chose to mark last night's episode as a repeat so that my DVR didn't record it.  Thank you, TWC.  Thank you for not allowing me to feel the complacency of a person who has a cable provider that doesn't suck total balls.  Much appreciated.

Alrighty.  Now that my little bitch-fest is over let's get this going.  I use the training shots to size up this season's crop of hotties.  There's some definite potential there.  We'll have to see how things pan out.  And we have our first potential quitter.  Keon misses his daughter and wants to go home.  He changes his mind in 30 seconds.  TV editing makes everything so tidy, doesn't it?

Our fight tonight is some dude named Javier vs. some dude named Chris.  Chris is wearing sunglasses on his forehead indoors.  I'm not sure where the rules lie in this case.  He's not technically wearing the sunglasses, but they are available for quickly putting on indoors.  I'll have to do some research on this.  Anywho, Javier is expected to run through Chris.  I'm sensing a little foreshadowing that things are not going to go Javier's way.

Back to Keon.  He's decided to leave again.  Good riddance, sucko.  At least someone who gives a crap will get a chance now.

Oy, only have way through the episode and we're at the fight.  Either we have a three round decision coming up or some kind of drama.  I'm voting for decision as it's two minutes into the first round and not a ton has happened.  Javier takes down Chris, who gets up pretty quickly.  Lots of clinch and then some more clinch.  Javier manages to cut Chris under the left eye with a knee and that's pretty much the most exciting thing that happened in round one.

Round two looks strikingly similar to round one.  Half way through the round they finally show a little bit of life with punches and kicks.  And as I finish writing that they end up clinched against the cage again.  But wait!  They break free again.  Now they're just kind of circling each other.  And we're back to clinched against the cage.  Sigh.

And I was correct.  It's a draw so we're going to round three.  Alright, so we have two nut shots to Javier so that's something different.  Javier's looking a little gassed and I think my foreshadowing theory will prove correct.  Chris is hopping about so he looks more....peppy.  Yes, I said peppy.  Javier's ponytail desperately needs to be tightened.  Things are not looking good for him.  Gassy, loose ponytail....I don't not see this ending well for him.  And it doesn't.  Chris Cope wins by unanimous decision.

Not feeling it this season

Watching last night’s episode was a chore. A painful chore. Bleh.

I was so sick of that by halfway through the episode.

Seriously. It got old the second time he said it.

do as i

And don’t watch. Then at like 9:40 click over and see if its pre fight stuff. If not come back later. Then just watch the end reviews for next show in case there are two fights you’ll be warned. If not, then turn in again at 9:40. I haven’t watched anything but about 2.5 rounds this season. I regret that too… none of those guys seemed ufc materials

Sunglasses indoors, at the gym, wherever

Oh wait, let me get my sunglasses, in case I’m going to watch TV, or go swimming or something. I can wear them on my forehead or around the back of my head, which I’ve never tried. In case I look like a douche-bag, please let me know.
