Mirko Cro Cop Back in K-1, Tapped For K-1 Final Fight in Croatia

Mirko Cro Cop is not a fan of many things. He is not a fan of Chael "The Real American Idol" Sonnen. He doesn't seem to have a taste for Gabriel Gonzaga's high kicks either. But, fortunately (maybe?) for fans of Cro Cop and Duran Duran everywhere, Mirko Cro Cop is back. But, he won't be fighting for Dana White and crew.
Mirko Cro Cop is back in the ring for a hopefully revitalized K-1 according to the folks at Liver Kick. The event is called "K-1 Final Fight" and will be held in the Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia. The arena, conveniently located in Cro Cop's current hometown, can hold up to 24,000 fans at a time.
While many have reason to be concerned for Cro Cop's health after the brutal knockouts he has received in the UFC, Mirko seems unsurprisingly calm:
"It's much easier to prepare for a K-1 bout...You don't have much grappling and fighting on the mat. It's much easier."
As for opponents, nothing is confirmed quite yet. The rumored name going around is Dzevad Poturak, although he has went on record (Warning: Google Translate needed) saying he'll be fighting Jerome Le Banner and Cro Cop will be taking on Errol Zimmerman. Whomever Cro Cop takes on, I'm sure there will be legions of fans watching him strap on the heavier gloves and praying for a resurrection of the killer of old.

The bottom line is Georges is being a little bitch. He didn’t step up and say anything when the UFC pulled me out of this fight. I understand sometimes you have to do what you’re told, but why wouldn’t you tell the media you still want to fight me? If I was Georges, I would want to fight the best. I would have asked for the Anderson Silva fight. I would have asked to fight the Strikeforce champ. But he sits there like a robot and doesn’t say anything at all, just like he’s not going to say anything about me calling him a bitch now. I hope not. Like, I want him to succeed so badly in K-1. I don’t know if his chin will hold up to it, but it is not like he can be as gunshy anymore. Not like he has to worry about a takedown anymore.

The bottom line is Georges is being a little bitch. He didn’t step up and say anything when the UFC pulled me out of this fight. I understand sometimes you have to do what you’re told, but why wouldn’t you tell the media you still want to fight me? If I was Georges, I would want to fight the best. I would have asked for the Anderson Silva fight. I would have asked to fight the Strikeforce champ. But he sits there like a robot and doesn’t say anything at all, just like he’s not going to say anything about me calling him a bitch now. GOOD! Cro Cop is gonna Dominate in K1!
He’s been in the big leagues for a long time now. He should be well conditioned for K1
Keep in mind that he was a good kickboxer for K-1 in the late 90’s-early 00’s…ten years have passed and that is ten years of not training for high-level kickboxing, along with a decline in speed, stamina, and ability to take a punch.

Also, he was never an elite kickboxer. So, he was never great in his prime.

No no no no, Mirko...
Don’t do this. Please. Zimmerman ain’t elite, but he’s not who you need to be fighting after being out of K-1 for so long.
Now, if Cro Cop is dead set on this, a great fight would be him vs. Ruslan Karaev. Karaev has been out with injuries for so long that the fight would be close to fair. But I’d just rather not see Cro Cop do this at all. It makes me sad.

I wouldn’t bet on Cro Cop against Butterbean. Choi would be just too much of an obvious freak fight. And by big black guy, were you referring to Bob Sapp? That might be interesting too, actually lol.
