Random Awesome Fights: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshi Ishii at DREAM's New Year! 2011

Yah, UFC 141 was last night, and it was pretty ridiculously bad ass. Strange as it was to watch on a Friday. For those of you were all tuckered out by seeing Alistair Overeem humiliate some dude who's name doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Ubereem's, then surely you missed DREAM's big New Years event live from Saitiama, Japan in the wee hours of the morning.

That means all of you sleeping through the night like suckers missed out on some crazy Japanese awesome sauce! The night featured some great fights, some standard Japanese shenanigans, and some pro fake wrestling that isn't quite as lame as WWE but still stupider than a donkey with a touch of Down's.

The first fight I checked out was Fedor Emelianenko vs. Satoshii Ishii. The bout marked Fedor's return to the land of the rising sun, who adores him like a fat kid adores cracker jacks. This also marked Ishii's first trip back to his homeland since filing to become an American citizen and going public with his plans to win Gold at the Olympics in Judo again for America instead of Japan... the crowd showed him how they felt. Super interesting also is how midnight struck RIGHT after the fight. How convenience.
