Mirko Cro Cop vs. Jerome Le Banner Being Considered for DREAM NYE Event

Mirko Cro Cop's retirement is busier than most people's holiday schedules. While he should be out fishing and making horrendous action sequels, Mirko calls retirement fighting once or twice every year. Yep, he is just that bad. Shaft has nothing on Mirko.
We caught wind from our good friends over at Liver Kick that Mirko was considering a K-1 return this March, but it seems that we will see Mirko in a ring much sooner than that. But, will Mirko be able to make it through this match without significant trauma or injury?
Well, that remains to be determined...or has it?
Mirko Filipovic will be returning to the ring against legitimate opposition in Jerome Le Banner according to our pals at Liver Kick. The catch? Jerome Le Banner is the IGF Heavyweight Champion. As in Inoki Genome Federation. As in Antonio Inoki's pro wrestling organization. Granted, the Japanese style of pro wrestling is a lot more stiff and painful than the sports entertainment style of pro wrestling we see American companies delivering. And taking a fake kick from Jerome Le Banner probably hurts a hell of a lot more than getting ran into by John Cena. But this is something I can get behind. If Mirko wants to have fun and still get an adrenaline rush, the world of puroresu is a healthy alternative to kickboxing or mixed martial arts.
This isn't Mirko's first dive into the sports entertainment world, however. Follow me after the jump for some video of Mirko doing his thing in HUSTLE.

The bottom line is Georges is being a little bitch. He didn’t step up and say anything when the UFC pulled me out of this fight. I understand sometimes you have to do what you’re told, but why wouldn’t you tell the media you still want to fight me? If I was Georges, I would want to fight the best. I would have asked for the Anderson Silva fight. I would have asked to fight the Strikeforce champ. But he sits there like a robot and doesn’t say anything at all, just like he’s not going to say anything about me calling him a bitch now. If I saw BJ Penn walking down the street and called him a bitch, we would be fighting right there on the spot. — Nick Diaz

The eagle’s neck is just to the left of Cro Cop’s head and it’s facing toward the margine and the cat is to the right of his head.

I love you, man, but when’s the last time you went into a fight with no injuries? I want you to get healthy, and teach us your craft. Live a long life. Le Banner is still vicious at 38. Your hesitance in all your recent fights scares me. Maybe not having to worry about take downs will change everything. I hope to God that is so.
