MMA You Want To Watch This Week 9/6 - 9/12
Here we are again, folks. It's Monday, and it's time for me to tell you what MMA is gonna be on this week. You'll have to forgive me if it's a little rushed this time, life and it's petty complications just doesn't seem to want to leave me alone today. At least there's MMA! So, here we go...
There's actually a lot going on this week. The only problem is it's mostly happening all at the same times. Choices, choices!
Bellator XXVIII
New Orleans, LA
Thursday, Septempter 9, 8pm, FSN
Ok, I'm still bitter about missing Bellator last week. The sooner they get this FSN thing straightened out, the happier I (and lots of other people) will be. But, I'm trying to be optimistic about this week. There are some good fights scheduled, but no tournament action. I believe that has to do wtih the fact that there's some huge football game happening the same night, and Rebney knows that he's not going to have as many viewers this time around (The fights are in New Orleans, and I think that's the night of the Saints opening game - or something like that).
But regardless, Bellator has delivered some exciting shows recently, and this one should be no exception. Included in the lineup Thursday is UFC/TUF vet Rich Clementi, who is fighting Carey Vanier. We'll also see Georgi Karakhanyan fighting Anthony Leone. Clementi is 36-16, and is on a 5 win streak coming into this fight, while Vanier was in the lightweight tourney last season, but lost to Toby Imada. Should be a good show even without tournament fights.
Tachi Palace Fights 6
Lemoore, Ca
Thursday, September 9, 9pm, PPV via gofightlive.tv (and it's only $10!)
The two most noteable names on this card are Kyacey Uscola from last season's TUF, and Razor Rob Mccullough, who once upon a time was the WEC lightweight champ. And for $10, you get a total of 9 fights on this PPV. So if FSN decides to be snarky about showing Bellator in your area Thursday night, this is a great way to get your MMA fix. Just sayin'.
Shine Fights
Friday, September 10, 9pm, PPV
This event was supposed to happen in Fairfax, Va, but the commission there took exception to the promotion allowing the fans to vote for the first matchups. So, Shine is taking it to Oklahoma instead. This is a lightweight GP style event, and includes none other than Charles 'Crazy Horse' Bennett. Or is that Kid Khaos? I'm not entirely sure what he's calling himself now, but he's on this card. Expect something slightly crazy - or chaotic - to happen.
MFC 26
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Friday, September 10, 10pm, HDNet
There are three reasons you want to watch this event. First, it's free, on HDNet. Second, Michael Schiavello commentates MFC. And third, Jesse Taylor, former TUF cast member, former Strikeforce fighter, and to some, current train wreck, is on this card.
Now, don't get me wrong. MFC generally puts on some solid shows and is pretty entertaining. And this card features Antonio McKee, one of the most experienced, successful fighters (26-3) that casual fans have never heard of. It should be a good show overall, and heck, it's free! What have you got to lose?
Shark Fights 13
Amarillo, TX
Saturday, September 11, 10pm, PPV
I think this one pretty much speaks for itself. Keith Jardine, Houston Alexander, Sokoudjou, Trevor Prangley, Paul Daley, Jorge Masvidal... you so want to watch this. I know I do. Sherdog.com is also going to be streaming the undercard, so you'll get to see the whole thing. Sweet, right?
That's it for this Monday, kids. Lots to watch, lots to choose from this week. Enjoy!!

niiiicemy god i hope my internet returns
Out for 2 days now.
I’m stoked to see clementi fight again. He getsa bum deal in life man. He won like 5 or straight in the ufc thengets cut for losing two decisions to good fighters. 5-2 since then, but keep in mind one was due to a fluke injury. I consider him 5-1 sincethe ufc. Id love to see him back after this win,or maybe get a crack at alvarez. It wouldbe alvarez’s toughest fight since aoki.
That tachi card looks good. I’m afraid poor corey hill is gonna get lit the fuck up. Miller isgonna get his rape on again. Can’t wait to see him back in the wec.
Shine will be interesting. Shark fights will be marvelous.
Stoked. Isn’t UFN and TUF premier next wed?

Shine
I’d just like to emote for a moment if I may…So I bought tickets to that Shine fight, I was excited cause its hard to find good fights in my area….I was willing to drive 4 hours, no problem. The way I found out that it was canceled…or moved…or whatever? Ticketmaster e-mailed me and was like “yeah, we’re putting money back on your card…minus a service fee, cause its been canceled” I’m pretty pissed…actually pissed is probably an understatement. I took time off work, and I was worried my old car might not make it, so I even rented a car. This must be some major karmic payback for something…
I wasn’t gonna start bashing Shine… but I’m really worried about their fighters. The promotion seems like they’re just really not willing or not able to get their shit together. It’s not looking good.

the fighters may get 60 day suspensions
for fighting in an unsanctioned bout. The real thing I worry about for them…
This was moved to an unsanctioned Tribal land in Ok (not ok with me!) not cuz they didnt get their license due to the fans picking fights- cuz Shine didnt put up the money in a bond to ensure fighter pay. Promotions are required in many states to do this, so something Dream-like doesnt go down.
So now the fighters have no guarantee of being paid :-/

the dean of mean will be on the comeback trail.
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. Womens MMA, the next big thing in sports. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.
