UFC on Versus: Live Results
Yippee! Free awesome fights. It's enough to give a Gal the warm fuzzies. Alright, let's do this.
Sakara vs. Irvin
Damn commercials! I guess a girl can't have it all, but I sure do dislike having to watch commercials. I'm typically a DVR maniac, but not tonight my friends. I want it live! Speaking of which, Bruce Buffer seems extra spirited tonight. Free events really bring out the showman in him.
Let's talk about Irvin's tattoos for a moment. It's just that there's no cohesiveness to them. I sure wish he'd do something to bring them all together. I feel like I have ADD when I look at him.
Everyone's talking about how much weight Irvin had to cut for this fight. I'm curious to see what this does to him. And already I'm annoyed because they're both dropping their hands. It drives me crazy! So anyway, they're both throwing some punches, any of which would have knocked my on my ass and into oblivion. We got a break in the fight as Irvin supposedly got poked in the eye. He's getting very worked up about it. They just showed a replay and it was actually a punch, not a finger in the eye. Irvin sucks! Anywho, the fight is stopped as it was ruled a punch. Sakara was ready to beat down the ref if he didn't get the victory which he does. The ref lives for another day. Sakara by TKO.
Kongo vs. Buentello
Wow, the physique difference of these guys is laughable. I'm not a huge fan of Buentello, but I read an article on all the things he's given up to make it as a fighter and I definitely have respect for him. Kongo's doing a pretty good job of keeping Buentello on the ground, which I didn't see happening at all. Oops, Buentello gets up but it looks like he may have broken his pinky. Oh God, please don't pop it back in on TV. I may puke a little. And the fight's back on. What's happening? I'm so confused. Ah, Buentello popped it back in. Ballsy, I love it! Kongo finishes the round by knocking Buentello on his butt. Fun!
Kongo's looking good again this round. He's really just kind of kicking the crap out of Buentello. Buentello lucks out (or does he) as Kongo knees him in the face while he's down. I have to say, I really like Herb Dean. Okay, it's been said. Kongo loses a point for the illegal knee. I'm starting to feel a little bad for Buentello at this point. He looks like he could use a nap.
So round 3 starts and Kongo is really just having his way with Buentello. Kongo's elbowing Buentello's thigh and Buentello taps out. Thank God. I was really feeling a little dirty watching that fight. That being said, Buentello is one tough son of a bitch.
Dos Santos vs. Gonzaga
I'm giving this one to Dos Santos, but I do have to say that Gonzaga has the thousand yard stare down perfectly. Oh, fight is starting. Excitement feelings! So they're definitely taking this slow, respecting each other. Gonzago goes to throw a kick and Dos Santos dropped him with a left. He took no time to destroy Gonzaga and knock him out. Dos Santos is a beast! I love watching him fight.
Vera vs. Jones
These guys don't waste any time getting down to business. Fun! This fight is going to rock. I'm feeling a decision. Is anyone else feeling a decision? Vera kicks Jones in the head while Jones is down and loses a point. Herb Dean gave Jones the option to start from the same position which I don't think I've ever seen before. And a huge holy shit. Jones gets Vera with a ginormous elbow and the fight is over. Wow, I wish it had lasted just a little bit longer. That was an awesome fight!
Well, that's it for me folks. I gotta say, that was a fabulous night of fights. And free to boot. Thanks UFC, thanks Versus. And now I have to go to bed because I have to work tomorrow. Suck.

Commercials
Im watching a stream (email me if you dont get versus and ill share kids) of this from the ESPN UK channel. The commercials are AWESOME! And I’m glad cuz there are tons
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
Brits..
Theres a bunch of different commercials with people playing rugby in very inappropriate places, then this same old lady glares at them in anger til they stop and ti goes “SESPN Scrum. Rugby anywhere”

I am officially giddy like a school girl!
Dos Santos v. Velasquez
How can it not happen? You have the winner of Mir/Carwin fight Lesnar. Then you have those two fight to get the winner of that. Its gotta happen.

Is it just me...
…or does anyone else wish they’d skip the post fight interview if it means they could show another prelim? I wanna see Schaub and Guida… (I’d have been happy to skip the GSP interview for that, too)
"We don't need no water, let the Badr Hari burn!" - Michael Schiavello
i agree
I’d prefer it, but the key to promoting is connecting the fighters to the audience. So that’s never gonna happen.

There was 10 tons of BS during the broadcast.
They totally could have fit in a few more fights. I would definitely have preferred that.

i wonder..
if they were all borign decisions? or at least decision, which made them not willing to sacrifice 20 minutes of broadcast time to it.

Absolutely
Especially considering how short the Schaub fight was. They filled last night with a lot of crap.
