The Old In & Out: Fight Announcements And Changes

Fight_announcements_pic_medium

Good lord, but there have been a ton of fights announced this week.   I've probably missed a couple - if so, you have my most sincere apologies.  :)

Star-divide

One thing to remember: a lot of these fights are still in the 'rumor' stage and haven't been 'officially' announced.  Pretty sure they'll happen, though.

Ryan Thomas vs. Jim Wallhead - Bellator 32, October 14

Raphael Assuncao vs. L.C. Davis - WEC 52, November 11

Kendall Grove vs. Demian Maia  - TUF 12 Finale, December 4

Stephan Bonnar vs. Igor Pokrajac - TUF 12 Finale

Johny Hendricks vs. Rick Story - TUF 12 Finale

Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland - Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu, December 4

Mike Kyle vs. Roger Gracie - Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu

Stefan Struve vs. Sean McCorkle - UFC 124, December 11

Jason McDonald vs. Rafael Natal - UFC 124

Ricardo Almeida vs. TJ Grant - UFC 124

Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira - UFC 124

Dan Miller vs. Joe Doerksen - UFC 124

Matt Riddle vs. TJ Waldburger - UFC 124

Dustin Hazelett vs. Mark Bocek - UFC 124

Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson - UFC 125, January 1

Nate Diaz vs. Dong Huyn Kim - UFC 125

Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin - UFC 127, February 5

Kenny Florian vs. Evan Dunham - UFC 127

Ok, the list of injuries is thankfully short.  Jason Brilz is out of his fight at UFC 122 against Vladimir Matyushenko with a reported back injury.  In his place is newly signed Alexandre Ferreira.  Also, Brian Bowles will not be fighting Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 52.  Instead, Joseph Benavidez will step in.

In the wake of Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons 2, we know that newly crowned champ Marloes Coenen (War Golden Glory!) will have to defend that belt against tourney winner Miesha Tate, but no date has been set.

i like thatu do these now

It cuts downon me need to hit other sites. I’ve been keepin it to gg2mma and middleeasy as of late…

Bocek v. Hazelett is good. Gives mclovin a chance to get back in there fully healed and get his confidence back.

Florian v dunham is going to be super exciting! Nice to see they moved dunham foreverdispite his “loss”. As florian would be hisopponent after a win.

Oliviera v miller??? Wow. They are nottaking the jon jones approach at all with this kid. I thought his 2nd fight being on short notice with escudero was tough. Jim fuckin miller.he wins, they’ll have to give him a dunham/florian type match…

Thanks Midge!

Yay, positive feedback! Even better than coffee! :) I’m kinda excited for Diaz vs. Kim, myself. But yeah, Oliveira has been impressive as hell and that should be a crazy fight. Oh, yeah, and Kyle vs. Gracie! That one is the most tentative right now, I think, but I can’t wait to see it.

Yeah, he fights at light heavy. Seems odd, considering his height, but there ya go.

hmm..

Id imagine they’d try to getkyle another win at lhw, while fejao gets his first title fight. If they both won kyle wouldbe a legit challenger, plus itwouldbe the rematch. I feel like theyrethrowin him to a bigger (great) grappler instead. Maybe they don’t want him in the limelight with his history

I was just having dirty thoughts about Roger Gracie the other day.

Strikeforce is very in tune to my brain. It’s almost creepy.

great fight to prove if Nate can hang with a legit 170 grappler.

Don’t be scared to put Nick Diaz as one of the top 5 Welterweights in the world, homie. Thanks to BNF, I am no longer scared.

i'll take diaz to give kim his first loss. i just love both diaz's skills and styles.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

You convinced me...;)

Stun-gun is no joke. I am an avid Diaz hater, as evidenced by my lost sig and pic, but Nate has a shot in this.

I’m not sure how I feel about the Franklin/Griffin fight. It reallly wouldn’t take either one of them a huge step toward the title again. But LHW devision belt might be switching around a little bit anyways. It may also be the fact I love each one of them dearly and I couldn’t make myself pick a winner. If I chose one over the other it would feel like I was kicked in my imaginary balls by a large man… probably Pat Barry.

I feel the same way!

It’s a battle of the company men. Although if I had a gun to my head and had to pick, I’d root for Franklin. I love that damn man.

they keep giving Franklin fights where I dont want his opposition to lose

And I’m a huge Franklin fan. He;s under rated. Very very under rated. Shit ppl- look at his UFc career. He loses Anderson Silva (giving him the toughest fight in the UFc besides Sonnen) and gets clipped by Vitor Belfort then pounded in the back of the head toa TKO.

give the dude some credit! He’ll probably pick Forest and his gimp, post surgery, ring rusted ass apart.

Lets see Franklin v. Tito instead. We can all enjoy Tito getting beat up
