Diego Sanchez Signs for 8 More Fights

Still Crazy After All These Years

Diego Sanchez signed an 8-fight deal with the UFC yesterday, which will include his UFC 107 bout against BJ Penn. In general, this news has been met with much joy in the MMA community, but I have very mixed feelings about Diego Sanchez. On one hand, he's one of the most exciting fighters currently fighting in the UFC. Anyone who doubts that needs to watch his fight against Clay Guida at the Ultimate Fighter US vs UK finale. On the other hand, Diego has the worst case of crazy eyes that I've ever seen. Whenever he comes on the screen, I have a sudden, blinding urge to curl into a ball and suck my thumb.

What is it about Diego that makes him so fascinating? He certainly is STRANGE, but I still find myself looking forward to watching all of his fights… even the old ones!
