UFC 104 Fights Officially Announced

UFC104We can finally put an end to all of the speculation as the UFC organziation has announced that Lyota "The Dragon" Machida will be defending his light heavy weight title against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua for the UFC 104 event on October 24th at the Los Angeles Staples Center. In addition, they've announced that the undefeated Cain Velasquez will be taking on Ben Rothwell.

I'm completely psyched for this fight. I think it's going to be a doozy, but I believe that Machida has the advantage here. I can't say much for the Velasquez/Rothwell fight as I don't really know too much about Ben. However, I do know this will be Rothwell's first time in the Octagon, so I can't wait to see what he's got. I'll be sure to keep you updated as I hear more offical fight announcements.

Shogun has been anything but impressive in his UFC fights. Whatever his excuses, I don’t think he’s earned a title shot. But then who in the 105 category has earned a shot? It’s constantly win one, lose one amongst the top guys. Rampage and Evans are locked up, and either of those would be a better match up. Forrest kinda had a fall down. Jardin suffers from inconsistency. Maybe if Franklin wins another fight. And Silva and Machida are training partners. So it’s tough to make fights at 105 right now.
